Inspiration

In a busy world, we often tend to forget to give back to society. And even if we do think about it, we have concerns about how to make a powerful impact by donating to a charity organization which is really in need. So with the data available today, we can take a call based on the statistics available.

What it does

The solution basically shows a simplified view of charity organizations based on 2 main aspects - finance and volunteering resources. On the finance aspect, we intend to display the income and expenditures of the organizations which can help people find the right place to donate their valuable money. On the volunteering resources aspect, we intend to exhibit the statistics of the number of volunteers required by a charity organization and how many volunteers actually signed up. This report can help people in choosing organizations which could benefit the most with their time.

How we built it

We have built it using Foundry. We created objects, actions and workshops. We found data on charity organizations from https://register-of-charities.charitycommission.gov.uk/register/full-register-download

Challenges we ran into

Was finding the right dataset. Post which, we had minor challenges with the Foundry platform and its usages.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The cause that we are promoting. We are helping people help society.

What we learned

The overall journey of finding a problem statement to building an impactful solution in 24 hours was a challenge. We pivoted halfway through the hackathon yet kept it going. And also, learning about a new platform - Foundry in such short span was wonderful as well.

What's next for We Care 4 All

To build an application which can send out weekly reminders with information based on realistic data that can motivate people to either donate money or their time.
