Inspiration
Hello! I have always been interested in science fiction and the universe. Since I was a kid I have liked the crazy theories about the origin of earth's life. One of these theories is the "extraterrestrial origin". As a result of these ideas, I created this lens.
What it does
This lens allows you to visualize two types of faces, the human with an astronaut helmet and the humanoid alien with big eyes. To see these two faces will automatically appear gamma rays that allow us to see the "reality".
In addition, to understand more about our new "reality" you will see the sky showing an intergalactic landscape.
How we built it
For the sky, I used sky segmentation. I worked with "2D animation files". I used Stable Diffusion Deforum with the "interpolate" animation mode to generate the galaxies images. For the face, I added a 3D object (the helmet) I also used face mesh, added a face liquify effect on the eyes and the "disintegrate" material was a post effect placed on a screen image.
Challenges we ran into
At the beginning, I did not know how to use the disintegrate material so that the "human" side and the "alien" side would be displayed correctly. I was researching the Snap documentation and also tested different uses of the material and the visualization of the objects.
Another challenge I faced was to use the exact number of images generated in Stable Diffusion, as I could not create more images because it could increase the size of the lens.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The effect came out as expected, the use of disintegrate worked very well to show both sides of the person (human, alien).
What we learned
I learned the correct use of materials as an element of interaction inside a lens.
What's next for We are aliens
Soon I would like to add a space suit to have the complete outfit.
