Inspiration

We noticed a significant gap between smart-home security alerts and real-time logistics management. We wanted to create a system where delivery data could interact seamlessly with home hardware to streamline package reception. This vision led us to transform static security notifications into a dynamic routing hub.

What it does

WaypointWise handles complex delivery routing by optimizing paths for multiple couriers. It integrates with Ring to trigger package arrivals and update routing schedules based on live events. The system ensures that every delivery is accounted for within the smart home interface.

How we built it

We developed the core logic using Python and deployed it via aws-app-runner for scalable compute. We utilized crewai to orchestrate autonomous agents that manage routing logic while amazon-bedrock handles natural language processing of delivery notes. The integration with amazon-ring and logi ensures data synchronization across the stack.

Challenges we ran into

Synchronizing real-time events from Ring with the asynchronous routing logic required complex state management. We also struggled with optimizing the crewai agents to respond quickly enough for live-sensitive delivery windows. Mapping the data schemas between logi and our custom waypointwise logic took several iterations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how smoothly we integrated amazon-bedrock to interpret complex delivery instructions. Achieving low latency communication between the Ring surface and our routing engine was a major win. Our team successfully built a robust that that handles multi-stop routing with ease.

What we learned

We learned a lot about the nuances of multi-agent orchestration using crewai. We also gained deep insights into how to structure event-driven applications for the smart home domain. Understanding the constraints of the Ring API helped us design a more resilient data flow.

What's next for WaypointWise

We plan to expand the predictive analytics capabilities to anticipate delivery delays before they happen. We also hope to integrate more third-party courier APIs to further enrich the routing engine. The goal is to make WaypointWise the standard for Ring-integrated logistics management.
