What's next for WaypointWise — delivery routing on Bee

Inspiration

We noticed that developers often struggle to integrate complex logistics logic when working within specialized tracks. We wanted to create a tool that simplifies the process of generating optimal routes for delivery couriers. Our goal was to bridge the gap between raw location data and actionable delivery schedules.

What it does

WaypointWise automates the generation of optimized delivery routes for fleets. It processes multiple delivery coordinates and calculates the most efficient sequence using real-time data. The system allows developers to integrate these routing capabilities directly into their Bee-based applications.

How we built it

We implemented the core logic using Go to ensure high performance and concurrency. We utilized aws-lambda for serverless execution and amazon-bedrock for handling natural-language routing queries. The strands-agents-sdk helped us manage complex agent workflows, while logi and amazon-bee provided the essential infrastructure for the track.

Challenges we ran into

We faced initial hurdles in mapping the Go structures to the specific requirements of the strands-agents-sdk. Optimizing the latency between aws-lambda functions and the routing engine took several rounds of iteration. We also navigated state consistency across multiple distributed agents.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of how seamlessly WaypointWise integrates with the Bee track surface. Successfully using amazon-bedrock to interpret complex routing requests was a major technical win for us. Seeing the first automated route execute in the environment was incredibly rewarding.

What we learned

We learned a lot about the nuances of building agentic workflows for logistics applications. We also gained a deeper understanding of how to structure Go-based services for serverless environments. The experience sharpened our knowledge of how to scale routing logic within the AWS ecosystem.

What's next for WaypointWise

We plan to add real-time traffic updates to improve the routing accuracy. We also hope to expand the supported vehicle types to include electric bikes and drones. Developing more documentation for other developers on the Bee track is our top priority.
