Inspiration

As someone who's been to cities for work and vacation, I've always been frustrated by the "between" times, when I don't know what to do or how to travel elsewhere. Waypointer helps travelers solve at least the conundrum of "how to get there," which is often a major pain point.

Problem Statement

How might we help travelers and tourists navigate their destinations in order to reach their planned activities on time while giving them as much information as possible about their transit, destination, and local resources?

Building Blocks

  • Survey (Google Forms)
  • Research synthesis (Persona, user journey)
  • Problem Statement (Hypothesis, assumptions, IPS, validated/revised)
  • Figma (mid- to high-fidelity testing)
  • Style Guide (colors, logos, iconography)
  • Maze (user testing)

See the FigJam file linked for the full process.

Takeaways

  • Always find ways practical to challenge your assumed knowledge.
  • Understand a project scope and how you can work within it.
  • Simpler isn't always better, but it can serve as a better foundation.
