We were inspired by the constant struggle students face managing class schedules and understanding material across different platforms. Waypoint is a centralized app that shows your daily class schedule and includes an AI-powered chatbot for each class to help with understanding concepts and assignments. We built it using Figma One challenge we faced was making the chatbot context-aware for different classes while keeping the interface clean and intuitive. We’re proud of successfully integrating a working AI assistant with a functional scheduling system in a seamless, user-friendly interface. We learned how to fine-tune AI prompts for academic use and how important thoughtful UX is for student productivity. Next, we plan to add assignment tracking, university portal integration, group collaboration features, and a mobile version of Waypoint.
