Inspiration

Driven by a passion for community impact, I have been organizing cultural and awareness workshops since middle school. As I transitioned into high school, I noticed a recurring hurdle: here in the middle east, specifically in saudi arabia, our rigid school schedule—marked by back-to-back classes—often traps students within classrooms, preventing us from collaborating on extracurricular projects or accessing necessary resources. Despite our initiative to create vibrant environments, we often feel "stuck" by the curriculum. This frustration sparked the vision for Wayout: a digital bridge between student ambition and school flexibility.

What it does

Wayout is a smart digital pass system " english version to make it easy to understand " linked directly to school administration. It allows students to request temporary leave during specific periods to collaborate on projects, attend workshops, or engage in meaningful extracurricular activities, streamlining the approval process while maintaining academic accountability.

How i built it

The development journey began with deep user research and conceptualization. I then moved to designing the UI/UX, including custom icons and the branding identity. I brought these concepts to life by building a high-fidelity interactive prototype using Figma, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience.

Challenges i ran into

My biggest hurdle was bridging the gap between an innovative concept and the realities of school administrative systems. Currently, I am focused on the "adoption challenge"—strategizing how to pitch this effectively to school leadership and fostering a culture of trust among teachers. Designing the entire visual identity from scratch, while balancing school life, required significant discipline and creative problem-solving using AI-assisted tools.

Accomplishments that i am proud of

I am incredibly proud of identifying a genuine problem and refusing to be a passive bystander. Successfully crafting a functional prototype in Figma—my very first project on the platform—was a major milestone. Above all, I am proud of the resilience I’ve shown in transforming a personal frustration into a structured, scalable solution.

What i learned

This journey taught me that my potential is not defined by my age or my status as a student. Beyond design and tech, I learned how to approach system-level problems and gained the confidence to navigate complex administrative landscapes. I realized that with the right tools and mindset, I can bridge the gap between "what is" and "what could be."

What's next for wayout app: for smother movement

I am determined to move Wayout beyond this competition. My next step is to refine the prototype based on user feedback and present a compelling pilot proposal to my school administration, aiming to transform Wayout into a standard tool for flexible, productive learning environments.
