Wayfair Assist

What it does

Helps you find the best products from Wayfair, while searching on Google.

How we built it

We read about how to create an extension. None of us have any prior knowledge of how a chrome extension should be created. It took us a full 2 days to build including CSS.

Challenges we ran into

CORS(https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Access_control_CORS) is the single biggest challenge we ran into. We couldn't make a cross domain Ajax call. The way we tackled it is by downloading a CORS extension for chrome. We allowed for headers from google in the keyword_controller.php and and using our devbox to serve the results.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our persistence, we persisted through things we didn't know about and I believe that we came up with a fun product that people will love.

What we learned

We learned, that its best to work with people who are the best in their focus areas and each one of us has different origins and its amazing that we collaborated so well.
