Inspiration
I believe that energy production and usage can very well be an indicator of development we are paying a very high cost for this development depleting our natural resource and polluting our environment. Majority of energy is produced by burning fossils fuels and these release large amount of green house gases if there is a slight chance that we can reduce the green house emission even by a small amount I want to take it.
What it does
It gives the insights that I gathered from visualising the datasets that were provided
How I built it
After reading the challenge I watched videos on gas turbines and electricity generation from them and the factors which affect it. Then I loaded the csv files using pandas making modification on them thinking of ways how things can be connected to each other, using plotly made various kinds of plots from simple line to complex box plot.
Challenges we ran into
Code not working figuring out groupby function of pandas, thinking of something else in my mind and getting something else. Trying to find very obvious facts I couldn't find something out of the box I'm really excited to see the insights my fellow participants have found.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making this submission because this is my first hackathon there were a lot of moments where I thought I should not make this submission this is only my first time, I was trying to convince myself that I should not make a submission but I didn't give in I know this might not be the best, but I'm proud of my work
What we learned
About data visualisation, got to know that domain knowledge is required so watched a lot of videos on gas turbines fixed speed and variable speed I tried to find out it the engines in plants were fixed speed or variable speed but got lost mid way, tried various plotting libraries and I have a confession to make I'm officially in love with plotly.
What's next for Way too Obvious
The data provided was very less because there was a big chance that it could happen by chance so I couldn't say confidently. I wanted to do make more visualisation but ran out of time and I lost a major chunk my my time due to the time difference.
