Inspiration

We love wave shooters.

What it does

This remixable world gives creators a simple starting point for creating a repeatable wave shooter experience with well crafted weapons, easily customized enemies, a points-based unlock system, health system, bullet impacts, and a raycast based spawning system to get started.

How we built it

We built this leaning heavily on gen-ai and Horizon Worlds documentation.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into issues with simplifying the concept in a way that made it feel more open to remixing as a concept.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

The weapons and enemy defeat effects are rewarding and satisfying. Being able to quickly test out the pre-configured weapons with just a few waves to show a quick progression also feels well tuned.

What we learned

There are a number of design choices that need to be reworked or scrapped altogether when making something that is for general open-source use rather than internally.

What's next for Guns & Splatter

We're going to use this to make a customized version of this with more high quality weapons, enemies, and systems that are more in line with our teams intended direction.
