BorderHackers Mobile App Challenge 2020.
What it does
An App that checks specific zones to see if there is an outage, and notifies the user if there is an outage in their zone.
How I built it
We used Flutter for the front-end, Android Studio for the back-end.
Challenges I ran into
We worked on multiple challenges so with the fact that we attended most of the BorderHacks workshops and the time we had, and zero-knowledge using flutter or android studio, we couldn't complete this project but we wanted to submit something as we did try and learned a lot on the way.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
None of us have ever made an app before or even use software like Flutter Studio or Android Studio, so we each took a course on LinkedIn Learning to learn how to use them, that way we also get a certificate while we are at it, one of the first apps any of us ever made.
What's next for Wave Direct - BorderHacks Mobile App Challenge
Hopefully, even after the hackathon, we can continue to work on this challenge as a personal challenge for us, since we did join mainly to learn, we are sure we can learn a lot by the end of this challenge.
