Inspiration

Most water tracking apps are boring and lack the drive to keep using them, and as a person who has tried to limit soda consumption know how much water I have drank would be insightful to know.

What it does

WaterTower tries to make tracking water consumption into a exciting and motivating game. It pushes you to try and complete your water consumption goals throughout the day at your own pace. Once you complete your goal the water tower will fall and you will have completed your daily goal. But if you aren't able to knock over the water tower don't worry cause you will always have tomorrow!

How we built it

We built an app or really a game to track water consumption. Tracking daily health goals can be a boring tasks and we wanted to change that by making something fun and engaging for the average person to use. You have to complete your own water consumption goal before the day is over, and if you match or beat it you will knock over the water tower beating the daily challenge. If you don't, it okay tomorrow is a new day to track and meet your goals!

Challenges we ran into

A big challenge is that all four of us are very inexperience with React Native, so we basically had to learn on the fly while building this app. Along with the challenge of just being able to use React Native we had to figure out: how to make a clock o

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are super proud of being able to come together and work as a team to create a app. Along with this was our ability to overcome many road bumps and issues and persevering through hardship.

What we learned

Well React Native was the biggest thing we conquered during this hackathon. Along with this was the the little quirks, this included: adding water to the water tower, making the game shift from day to night as a timer, and creating multiple pages for our app to work with.

What's next for WaterTower

Right now WaterTower is in a great starting position. Somethings to work on in the future would be integration with optional push notifications to help remind the users to track water consumption. Along with this would be polish to the design.
