Inspiration
We wanted to create a project that wouldn't take an enormous amount of time, but still had practical uses. Originally, we were planning to create an extension that changed the look of a particular website. As we discussed more, we decided that an extension containing every important link that we use in university would be more practical.
What it does
Waterloo Extension for Change is a Chrome extension that links to nine important websites that every Waterloo student needs. Additionally, it comes with the ability to change the theme based on the colour of each student's faculty.
How we built it
We built it using JavaScript and the Google Chrome Api.
Challenges we ran into
The icons for various website were low quality, and didn't look pleasing when on the extension. To combat this, we either needed to redraw them to the best of our ability or attempt to find a better quality image on the website.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of finishing.
What we learned
We learned to use the Chrome API
