Recently, there have been many droughts around the world. That got us thinking about the conservation of water--even though 71% of Earth's surface is covered in water, only 3% of Earth's water is fresh water. 1 in 7 people in the world don't have access to clean water, which is why it is super important to conserve water to keep as much water pure and clean as possible and to help the environment! We decided to make Waterlogged to spread awareness about of the importance of water conservation and help people conserve water.
What it does
Waterlogged helps people to keep track of their water consumption by logging the different actions they do that involve water. There are lots of options for water consumption actions to log, like flushing a toilet, brushing your teeth, or taking a shower, but users can also add their own actions using the “other” button. Keeping track of water consumption like this will help people realize just how much water you can save when you do small things, like taking short showers instead of baths and turning off the faucet when you brush your teeth.
Users can also check their timeline of water usage to see what activities they did today that involved water. This helps keep track of when you did what and helps you plan a better course of conserving water.
How we built it
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of completing a project for our first hackathon and having fun while doing so!
What we learned
What's next for Waterlogged
We'd like to add a sign-in feature to Waterlogged so that users can log in from multiple different devices, and we'd like to improve the UI.
