Inspiration

We were inspired by ocean waste, to create a game about cleaning our oceans.

What it does

The game revolves around a diver who you control. Your goal is to collect as much trash as possible, before you get eaten alive by sharks! We all die some day, why not be at the hands of a shark while cleaning the ocean?

How we built it

We used the Unity Engine to create our game. We also used programs like SFXR to make sound, as well as Aesprite for all the artwork. Everything was made during the competition.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into a few graphical issues, and audio issues. But once those were fixed, the game was to where we wanted it.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We produced a fully finished and implemented game, something we have had trouble doing in past hackathons/game jams. Usually we produce a product we aren't quite happy with, but this time our project is something we are very proud of.

What we learned

We continued to enhance our skills at game design, and usage of the unity engine, as well as C# as a coding language. Our talents at spriting and graphics have also improved from our last game jams as well.

What's next for Watered Down Waste

I assume the game will not have continued development, as the game was made to be a - play while you are bored - kind of game. Only implementations I could see, would be to make the game mobile, add micro transactions / ads, and more cosmetics to make the game more re playable.
