With almost 40% of the world population and many ecosystems suffering from water scarcity, conserving water has become very important. This website calculates your water footprint and gives feedback.

Inspiration

I have always been very conscious of any faucet that was left running or dripping. It made me feel horrible because of the thought of wasting water, which is the most valuable resource. Hopefully, this website will make people more aware of their impact on the environment through their use of water.

What it does

Water Waste calculates the amount of water a person uses in a day, the equivalent of that amount of water in human bodies, and evaluates how much water that is for the average person.

Challenges I ran into

Creating the title with the moving waves in the background took a lot of time and was very difficult.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

This was the first website that I built. I was able to learn HTML, CSS, and javascript while creating it.

What I learned

I learned how to structure a website with HTML, how to format and style it with CSS, and how to connect that to my algorithm in javascript.

What's next for Water Waste

New footprints such as carbon, energy, etc.
