Inspiration

Our planet has in the recent times faced challenges such as climate change that require our immediate and collective response to save the planet and make it a safe place for all of us. Rising temperatures, shifting sea levels call for immediate action and places responsibility on every earthling. Herein therefore lies great opportunity for innovative solutions to the climate issues. It is against this backdrop that we have come up with EcoTrack; designed to address Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) number 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. The project focuses on promoting sustainable consumption habits by providing a platform where users can track their carbon footprint, receive eco-friendly product recommendations, and learn about sustainable practices.

What it does

Web App -Tracking daily carbon footprint and waste. -Visualization of consumption patterns and trends. -Offers access to resources and educational content on sustainability. Mobile App:

Scanning product barcodes for eco-ratings.
Receiving personalized tips and challenges.
Connecting with a community of eco-conscious users. Chatbot:
Instant recommendations for sustainable alternatives.
Guidance on recycling and reducing waste.
Personalized feedback based on user habits.

How we plan to build it

Research and highlight key data (e.g., carbon emissions, plastic waste), Highlight Key specific issues in our community (e.g., high levels of single-use plastics, lack of recycling). The Web App will be built using: React js, Ruby on rails, PostgreSQL Mobile App will be built using: React Native, Ruby on rails, PostgreSQL Chatbot: Integrated with both web and mobile platforms Cloud Services: Google Cloud for scalability and data storage
