Water Quality Project By Kyra Terez

I was inspired after watching a video on the Flint, Michigan water crisis and I decided that I wanted to do a project based on this for this hackathon. This project educates on the issue of unsafe water in the U.S. and shows a homemade water filtration device. I built the website using Google Sites and I created the filtration device using water bottles, cotton balls, and coffee filters. I ran into some challenges with my original water filtration device as I initially used gravel and it was getting caught in the device, so I ultimately decided to use a different material instead. I am proud of both the research that went into creating the website & the device I made. I learned a lot about the UN's 6th goal and its efforts to combat this globally. Perhaps in the future, I can add more details about specific legislative changes in the U.S. up for a vote.
