THE PROBLEM: Watering plants… it’s kind of boring. Many people forget to keep their plants alive because it isn’t engaging enough for them to remember.
THE SOLUTION: Giving plants sass, wit, and personality using Hume.ai (ChatGPT with emotion) makes the plants more memorable. They give you tasks, teach you how to look after them, have conversations, and make jokes.
THE EXPLORATION: We cracked the code after countless brainstorms, paper/video prototypes and Shapes XR mock-ups, and a global collaboration between developers from Mexico, Australia, Poland, and India.
Playing around with AI and paper PostIt notes we found it very fun to talk to our plants with the AI responding. We then explored this further with ShapesXR to see how a contextual UI would work based on our initial PostIt note designs in the user’s context.
THE RETROSPECTIVE: In the little time we had we have defined a strong user experience and a good narrative approach to design for mixed reality for plant care.
