watdo

This project was made to address the difficulties in finding local community events offered through all nearby organizations. By pulling information from local Dekalb RSS feeds as well as the Eventiful API, watdo aggregates data in order to provide a streamlined user experience. Sort by type of organization, or simply scroll through the feed.

I worked on backend, implementing the Eventful API, parsing its JSON response, and storing it with MongoDB. I also worked on having each event display a related photo where possible, otherwise a stock photo. I did some frontend in regards to getting the photos to display inline correctly.

Daniel Margosian
I worked heavily on the frontend of watdo, as well as the javascript backend as needed. As we were a small team, I heavily contributed to planning the direction we would take the app.

Jackson Davis
Worked on backend; primarily worked on scripts for parsing, organizing and storing XML event data. In addition, designed filtering via checkboxes.
