Inspiration

• 2,400,000 potatoes are wasted every day in Canada

What it does

• It keeps tracks of what you waste when making your grocery lists
  • Scans an handwritten grocery list and automatically adds the items to the app

How we built it

• We used Flutter to make a responsive UI
• For the text recognition, we used the Google Vision API
• To filter the text, we matched the API results with a JSON food list

Challenges we ran into

• Environment setup
• Using the Google Vision API
• Saving local data on the app storage

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• We made an app ! Yay

What's next for Watch Out

• It could merged to already existing grocery apps (Ex : Metro)
