Inspiration

Our inspiration is from a world-wide event held in reddit r/Place where users from all over the world can contribute to a single canvas that will be permanently saved. Each can only place 1 pixel every 5 minute therefore they need to collaborate and work together as a team to achieve something bigger.

What it does

Using our inspiration we created a site in which different users can collaborate to make unique designs in the same canvas. But instead of a blank page being the canvas, we made it so that the canvas is an apparel such as clothing items, so that different users can collaborate on making a unique design. And instead of each user contributing one pixel each minute, we made it so that users can put their region's batik motifs into the apparel. And every batik motif that is placed upon the apparel, other users could click and see the region of origin of the motif, and also read the philosophy behind it. Effectively making each session an artistic, social, and educational experience all at once.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our team is proud to have been able to deliver our vision of learning and using new technologies in a relatively short amount of time. Our team is proud to have been able to push through all the challenges in the development process ultimately learning many technical skills while also improving non technical skills.

What we learned

Our team has learned a lot of different things, but in summary, our team have learned to implement different new technologies to create a functioning product within the architecture of a web application. Our also have learned the best practices to adopt within a development process. And finally, our team have learned how to organize a project correctly to maximize efficiency.

What's next for Wastra Nusantara

Our team's desire is to further polish our web application even outside of the context of the hackathon since we have genuine trust in the concept. We have the idea of putting in adaptable motifs, rotating color palletes, more kinds of clothing items, a better preview system, etc. We have the belief that our concept is genuinely a good artistic, educational, and business idea.
