Inspiration
The wastage of food is a big problem in our society with Australia wasting 7.6 million tonnes of food each year. We wanted to build a website that helps minimize food wastage by allowing users to input the ingredients they have and have our model generate a recipe given the input.
What it does
The website will allow users to input what ingredients they may have in their fridge. The user can also choose dietary requirements as well as allergy requirements. A few recipes may be generated given the user's input.
How we built it
We used HTML, CSS, JS, and Python.
Challenges we ran into
We wanted to implement some other APIs that will allow for this project to flourish more.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're done.
What we learned
To collaborate in a limited amount of time both in person and online. We also learned how to implement web dev things along with using APIs.
What's next for Fridge Fusion
Implement Google Places API or Uber Eats API that will allow users to find their closest supermarket to either get some more ingredients or to order straight to their door. Ultimately, we would like to also implement IoT technology that will recognize ingredients in the fridge and provide daily recipes.
