Inspiration I got the idea for WasteLess after noticing how much food gets thrown away at home and in small food places. It’s not that people don’t care, they just don’t have easy tools to track what they have or share what they don’t need. I wanted to make something simple that works even without internet and actually helps people waste less and do something good with extra food.
What I Learned I learned how to design clean and simple flows in Figma and how to build features that match how people actually use food. I also explored how AI can help suggest recipes and how adding rewards can make people more motivated to reduce waste.
How I Built It I started by planning the flow login then add food then either get a recipe or donate. Then I designed the main screens in Figma with focus on making it easy to use and nice to look at. I kept everything light and modular so it can work even in places with low internet.
Challenges The hardest part was keeping it simple but still useful. I had to think a lot about how to make it easy for people who aren’t tech-savvy and how to show the impact in a way that feels real and encouraging.
