Inspiration

Garbage Collection is mostly done by Municipality and the methods used for managing and collecting waste are highly ineffective which doesn't ensure proper waste management. So, We're thrilled to build a novel and sustainable way of managing waste.

What it does

It provides a platform for users to reach us for waste collection with just one tap and in turn, they'll get reward points as incentives that they can redeem later. The segregation and collection of the waste will be done by us with advanced ML models and the collected waste will be bought by the organizations for their recycled products manufacturing, and later on, the organizations can list their products on our website and the users can buy those products and can redeem their reward points.

How we built it

We use MERN stack, Firebase, TensorFlow, Socket.io, Material UI

Challenges we ran into

In building our ML models, we have to build datasets for the CNN training in both segregation and clustering with prediction models, and building our own datasets and implementing those were bit challenging and time-taking.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Successfully, We implemented all of our models in just 36 hrs hacking window, we built 3 ML models, built multiple interfaces (User, Collector, Admin, Buy & Sell, Home), and deployed our frontend, backend, and ML.

What we learned

We learnt how to work in pressure, how to solve multiple complex problems, to work efficiently and effectively in team, and to contribute to open source and have fun along the journey.

What's next for WasteBin

We'll be building an IoT Bin equipped with multiple Yolo Models and then providing services to both users and organizations.
