Our Goals for Our Project

Waste TRKR's mission is to help people recognize and reduce the amount of garbage they produce.

What Our Project Does

It has applications to track the garbage that you've produced and keep track of your expiry dates.

How We Built Our Project

Our website was built using HTML, CSS and Javascript and our mockup for the mobile application was built using Google Images and Google Slides.

Challenges Our Team Faced

One challenge that we ran into was that we had never done any web development prior to Hack the North and had a few questions about formatting and functionality. Luckily, all of the mentors I talked to were very knowledgeable and able to help with anything I needed. Another challenge for our team was that two of our members left the competition on the first day, so we had to adjust our project ideas to what we would be able to achieve as a team of two.

An Accomplishment Our Team is Proud of

An accomplishment that we're proud of is going from having no knowledge of web development to creating a functioning website in a day and a half.

What's Next for Waste TRKR

The next step for Waste TRKR is to create a functioning mobile application and to consider how we can expand our services to better suit our users' needs.
