Inspiration

Combat food fast from families and the greenhouse gases as a result of them as well. Personally I passively contribute to the problem at home and I wanted to find a way to stop.

What it does

Stores user input of food names and dishes as an inventory in fridge and tracks expiration, raising awareness to expiring foods.

How we built it

The back-end user input is done completely using python and stores inventory using a spreadsheet through a .csv file. Front end is intended to be made with the Kivy library.

Challenges we ran into

Kivy is an extensive library that we weren't able to fully utilize to recreate the image of the program we had wished for

Accomplishments that we're proud of

User input is very fluid and the concept of Waste-less is highly extendible through machine learning and the addition of a camera for input.

What we learned

Using Kivy library for the first time

What's next for Waste-less

Addition of camera and machine learning for automatic data entry. So the app would require no user input whatsoever.
