Inspiration

Our team was inspired by the motivation to educate anyone, mainly students including elementary and middle schoolers, who had the desire to learn about how to care for the planet.

What it does

It allows users to view data about energy usage and waste disposal for any country in the world and it provides sustainability information and tips.

How we built it

We built it with Java on IntelliJ IDEA and used the JavaFX framework to display our program.

Challenges we ran into

We had challenges with implementing some JavaFX elements, but we were able to solve them by reviewing the documentation.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A few accomplishments that we’re proud of is learning how to use JavaFX in a timely manner and being able to translate from idea to production by collaborating between teammates.

What we learned

We learned more about energy usage and waste disposal around the world through the data and how to incorporate our ideas using JavaFX.

What's next for Waste Disposal and Energy Usage Analyzer

We hope to translate our project into an interactive app where anyone, mostly elementary and middle schoolers, can interact with data and learn about sustainability practices.
