Waste Buddies

Inspiration

Our product, WasteBuddies, is a service that offers farmers a greater access to a variety of compost. The overall business model is designed to relieve small, over encumbered businesses such as breweries, restaurants, and grocery stores of their compost as well as organic byproduct. Through a combination tangible service and web application, our service will conduct transactions between farmers and small businesses, providing compost products at a low cost, organic waste management as a more affordable option, while yielding profits for our business. We built the front end application design in Figma, and created a backend system from Java. We chose a mobile application and a desktop website as our interviews with potential users informed us that these are their preferred platforms for carrying out day-to-day tasks. Our end mission is to create value across the supply chain by understanding food consumption and animal feeding demand.
