Inspiration

The inspiration for our hedge fund was, why all the secrecy? Make it open source for everyone to make profit!

What it does

We show off our brilliant quants thinking in real-time by showing their strategies being posted constantly with the p/l being calculated on the fly using historical financial data. (Our quants usually use r/wallstreetbets and tend to use chatgpt to reformulate their ideas).

How we built it

React frontend, python backend webscraping and fastapi

Challenges we ran into

scraping reddit, using chatgpt api latency

Accomplishments that we're proud of

real-time blog posts being transformed using chatgpt and being constantly pushed to persistant storage for the frontend to poll

What we learned

Don't rely on what people are betting on in r/wallstreetbets

What's next for Warshall Mace - The Open Source Hedge Fund

We need to take this project further by constructing an open portfolio of the stocks being held/sold by our quants so that we can create greater transparency in the hedge fund space.
