Inspiration

Warranty and return paperwork ends up scattered across Downloads, mail exports and phone photos. When something breaks, the receipt, serial number or warranty term can't be found in time, and return windows pass unnoticed.

What it does

Warranty Vault is a Markdown-only Skill for UGREEN AI NAS. It reads the receipts, order emails, manuals and serial-label photos already on the NAS and builds a household asset register: item, serial, retailer, price, purchase date, last return day and warranty end, with the files that prove each. Urgent items come first. Every field cites a source line; unwritten terms are labelled "assumed" with the regional rule used; receipt-versus-label serial conflicts are flagged, never resolved silently. Saving the register and tagging source files each require user approval. No delete, move or share.

How it works

The Skill delegates to four registered NAS experts: ug-filesystem (find, md5sum), ug-photo (vision-ocr), ug-document (metadata, extract, reconcile), ug-knowledge (save-text, approved) and ug-filemgr (tags, approved). It uses the NAS's built-in models only; no outside AI or network calls.

Status (honest)

Built: SKILL.md plus six reference files, passing the official uliya-skill-kit 0.7.3 static check with 0 errors and 0 warnings; and a public demo that runs the same workflow on a simulated NAS (12 items from 8 countries). Not built: a runtime on a real NAS. Still to validate on a NAS: expert output formats, OCR on real receipts, tag creation.

Limits

Accuracy depends on NAS OCR/extraction quality (e.g. faded thermal receipts). Regional defaults are not legal advice. No scheduled reminders, since the catalog has no scheduler.

Round 1 files: proposal PDF (https://warranty-vault-sama-5806.vercel.app/warranty-vault-proposal.pdf) and Skill ZIP (https://warranty-vault-sama-5806.vercel.app/warranty-vault-skill.zip). An AI coding assistant helped draft and review the Skill and demo.
