Inspiration
With the new customisation features in iOS 18, I had the exciting idea to create an app that takes personalisation to the next level, enabling users to create their own unique wallpapers with minimal effort.
What it does
Creates one tap wallpapers using your camera. It applies a filter (currently: Blur, Glass, Mirror) to the camera feed, creating cool looking wallpapers.
How we built it
It's built in swift with a combination of both UIKit and SwiftUI.
Challenges we ran into
The initial plan was to develop the app entirely with SwiftUI, but I encountered limitations due to its lack of API support for camera functionalities.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I’m thrilled with how the UI has come together! It’s visually appealing and intuitive, making it easy for users to navigate and engage with the app.
What we learned
I learned the intricacies of real-time image processing, opening my eyes to the fascinating world of photography tech.
What's next for WarpCam
The app currently has only 3 main filters. But I already have a ton of ideas for more exciting filters to add to it in the coming weeks and months. Also planning to add a place to showcase wallpapers created by the users.
