Inspiration
To help people with various mental health illnesses such as Autism. ADHD, and Dyslexia.
What it does
Warmifies all colors on screen and changes the font so that it is more legible.
How we built it
Using Chrome's Manifest API, and JS/HTML/CSS
Challenges we ran into
We had to figure out the right way to warmify colors so that it encompasses all edge cases, and different color formats (rgb, rgba, hex, etc). We also had to come up with a way to undo the changes made in case the user did not want to warmify certain web pages.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of the fact that we were able to form a team during the Hack-a-thon and still be able to communicate with each other very well, use GitHub efficiently, and distribute work well according to our strengths and weaknesses. We're also proud of our ability to solve all the challenges that we encountered.
What we learned
How to make a Chrome Extension, manipulate networking data types, write efficient, understandable, and robust code, use GitHub effectively.
What's next for Warmify
More features that can help people with mental illnesses, improving the interface, extending warmify so that it can work on images and ads, and expanding to other browsers.
