Inspiration

Appreciation often goes unsaid because starting a message can feel awkward, high-pressure, and like it requires the perfect words. Ordinary digital messages can also imply an immediate reply. We wanted to make a small digital object that lets someone express appreciation and feel complete when it arrives.

What it does

Warm & Fuzzies is a finite digital keepsake for appreciation. Creators customise a paper-like composition and share it with a receiver link or QR code. The receiver can open it, keep it, or remove it, without a required reply or read state.

How we built it

We explored the experience in Figma, then built a browser-based prototype around a paper-like composition, customisation tools, and direct link or QR delivery. The project is hosted as a web prototype.

Challenges we ran into

We needed to make it easier to begin without pretending appreciation is effortless. The design had to reduce the pressure of finding perfect words while still giving creators room to make something personal. We also had to balance a rich editing experience with a simple handoff for the receiver, so we iterated on the paper layout, customisation controls, sharing flow, and receiver experience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We created a working prototype where people can build and customise a keepsake, share it, and give the receiver a choice about what happens next. We also developed a visual system to support the warm, handmade quality of the idea.

What we learned

The receiver experience matters as much as the creation experience. Giving someone an ending — rather than assuming they need to respond changes the role of a digital message.

What's next for Warm Fuzzies

We would validate the experience with more people and physical two-phone tests, continue improving the customisation controls, and strengthen media handling across devices. Some richer media is browser-local and is not presented as reliably transferring between devices.
