It started on a long cold Thursday evening. I finished a dreadful day of classes and headed to Apple's Swift workshop. It was my first non-accidental experience with xCode. Apple's staff, who were wonderful I might add, guided me in building my first iOS app - a scavenger hunt list. It was so good that my brother could use it for his birthday party's scavenger hunt.
Shouldering that night's worth of excitement, enthusiasm and with Papa Del's & Insomnia's in my stomach, I decided to ignore all homework, except those that were immediately due, and build my own iOS app, with the help of Chris from the internet, of course. Behold! After 1 entire day of learning the intricacies of Swift and staying up late into the morning (slept at 5:30am fyi), I created my first iOS game - War between friends. It tricks, bamboozles and amazes the user as they fight in a game of cards to topple their enemy and be crowned Champion.
I am honestly very proud of my game given that I only started xCoding Swift on Thursday. It has very nice colors and cards that make that make the outcome of the game totally unpredictable. I hope to build on this game's success and build more iOS apps in future hackathons. (Winning an iPad mini would really help btw)
