Inspiration
I am basically from Haripur, KPK and there are no fixed timings for load-shedding. PESCO people keep updating the schedule. Secondly, if there is some electricity problem, I have to go to their office and find them. Once I had to go around 10 times to catch the lineman who was always out office. Also, in there is not quick method to disseminate the information related to floods to people of a particular area. My friend's Macbook got ruined in flood of 2010 because it was very unexpected
What it does
There will be web-based admin panel for the WAPDA/PESCO people to put info into it and citizens will get notifications on their their smart phones through smart phone apps. Citizens can also report electricity lines related issues directly from the app including taking and sending pictures. Same app can be used to report electricity theft.
How I built it
I have not built it yet but my team can build a prototype within a week.
Challenges I ran into
Main challenge here will be adoption by the government
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
There are a lot of them, nothing in particular related to this project
What I learned
Early to bed and Early to Rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise
What's next for WAPDA Communication
After a prototype, if the government adopts it, we can add a lot of features in it.
