Australia is home to one of the world’s oldest continuous cultures, with over 250 Indigenous languages once spoken across the continent. Today, fewer than 50 remain active, many at risk of disappearing as younger generations lose daily exposure. We were inspired to create WangkaAI to help preserve and celebrate these languages using AI — not to replace cultural knowledge, but to support communities in keeping their stories alive in a digital age.
