Inspiration

WanderWise AI was inspired by the frustration of spending countless hours researching travel destinations, creating itineraries, and trying to understand local customs. We wanted to create a tool that transforms the travel planning process from a time-consuming chore into an enjoyable conversation, making personalized travel experiences accessible to everyone.

What it does

WanderWise AI is an intelligent travel planning platform that creates personalized itineraries based on your preferences, budget, and travel style. It provides cultural insights, local recommendations, and practical travel information while allowing you to visualize destinations through immersive 360° experiences. The platform handles everything from activity planning and restaurant recommendations to transportation logistics and cultural etiquette guidance.

How we built it

We built WanderWise AI using React with TypeScript for the frontend, leveraging Tailwind CSS for responsive design. We integrated Google's Gemini API for intelligent travel recommendations and natural language processing. For the virtual travel experience, we combined Google Street View and Mapillary APIs. The application uses a context-based state management system and modular components for maintainability. Weather data is fetched from WeatherAPI, and we implemented PDF generation for offline itineraries.
