Inspiration
When Ariana first came to Denmark two days ago, she was confused where the nearest Wendy's is located. However, she was quick to learn that Wendy's doesn't exist in Denmark. Therefore, we created this app to allow travelers to find the local version of their foods.
What it does
This application allows users to input a food option of their choice from their home country. Then, it finds the comparable food available in the country of their destination, as well as the proximity of the location of where the food can be bought by embedding Google Maps.
How we built it
We utilized Flutter, specifically the Dart language. In addition, we utilized Google Cloud Service.
Challenges we ran into
Initially we spent upwards of 4 hours attempting to integrate Blockstack into our projects. However, we made the realization that Blockstack cannot affectly integrated into our app.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of being able to have built a prototype, as well as a clear presentation of the projects.
What we learned
We learned a little about Blockstack, as well as Flutter, and the Dart language.
What's next for WanderScout
In the future, we hope to expand beyond food. Furthermore, we hope to help users to search goods such as household items, and restaurants. In addition, we hope to implement a social media aspect, where travelers can share their unique findings.
