“Wanderers” was inspired by my love of history, astronomy, and a desire to tell stories that move people - (hopefully in this case) through inspiration, optimism, hope, and beauty.

What it does

The film follows humanity through time (and space), depicting collaboration, shared purpose, and unity. It blends AI-generated cinematography and sound design evoking wonder, reflection, and optimism for our shared future.

How we built it

All visuals and audio were created using a combination of modern AI tools: Runway, Kling, Minimax (Hailuo), Seedance, Adobe Firefly, Veo 3, and ElevenLabs. Initial frames and concepts were generated with ChatGPT, Gemini, Seedream, Higgsfield Soul, Reve, and Photoshop. The film was assembled, edited, and refined in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects, with enhancements made using Topaz tools (Bloom, Astra, Photo, Gigapixel).

Challenges we ran into

AI video generation is not always consistent — lighting, continuity, motion, and character identity can drift between shots. Stitching these sequences together while maintaining visual coherence was a challenge. Upscaling and correcting artifacts from different generation models also required much careful attention.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I’m proud of achieving a cohesive emotional tone despite using multiple AI systems with very different visual characteristics. I’m also proud of the message — a hopeful, uplifting reminder of our shared humanity and what we can accomplish together. Finally, I'm also proud of all the hard work and passion I poured into the project.

What we learned

Working with multiple AI tools requires flexibility, patience, and iteration. I learned how to guide each model toward a consistent vision, how to correct mismatched styles through editing, and how to balance AI-driven creativity with traditional filmmaking instincts. Also, I learn a lot of software and how to improve work flow.

What's next for Wanderers

I hope to extend the film into a longer-format piece exploring more moments of discovery and cooperation. I’m also exploring ways to integrate more expressive AI character animation to create deeper emotional storytelling in future projects.
