Inspiration
Sometimes, we just want to know what marks we need to get the WAM we want.
What it does
Calculates the average mark required for the semester, adjust marks of specific subject in accordance to user input, and provide an assessment breakdown for each current course.
How we built it
We used the angular.js framework to design the web app, flask for the backend server and python for obtaining, parsing and calculating information.
Challenges we ran into
From the get go, we had technical problems with setting up our environment to develop the frontend. System for calculations were a lot more complex than first thought.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to create a working server, obtain and parse information specific to individuals, and synthesise the information to provide a basic target for this semester.
What we learned
We learnt that experience is really helpful, especially for the small time frame provided. We also learnt that scope is critical for the amount of people taking on the project.
