Overview

Walnut is a new creative tool allowing to enjoy travelling and getting to know destinations in the most unique way. Often travelling requires a lot of research and planning especially if you want to embrace desired locations to the fulleset. Walnut does the research related to local traditions, tourist attractions and users recommendations for you and compile daily tasks for users to try and experience local culture in fun, exciting way! Every user gets notified about their challenge of the day, takes a snapshot, provides rating and post to that location’s feed. Once challenge is completed user receives walnut points that can be used to plant a real walnut tree thanks to the partner OneTreePlanted.org in order to combat global warming. Location feed also provides insight in challenges completed by other travelers visiting same location and their opinions. Structure

App follows simple process of creating account with your phone number and getting straight into the challenge. What challenge is assigned to the user is decided by GPS (as challenges are location dependent) and random allocation from tasks pool. Every challenge provides brief background explanation how the task is important for the visiting location and allows user to accept or reject the challenge. Information is conveyed through simple simple prompts and animations. Once account has been created users can choose if they want to do challenge first or have a look at the feed.
