Inspiration

With the recent explosion of Wall Street Bets, there is financial gain to look into social media trends about stocks.

What it does

Our project automates this, by scraping thousands of daily reddit comments and determining which are the most talked and hyped stocks on r/wallstreetbets

Using react. Integration of backend server and DB into the front-end.

I worked on front-end UI design and implementation. Additionally, I connected several APIs displayed them to front-end; such as weekly high/low costs, the news, and the the company's name.

Nicholas McGee
I mostly worked on the front end. I created the react components structure of the UI, as well as the map functions responsible for dynamically displaying stock data. I also worked on the stock news and the 'display class based on sentiment' functions

Moataz Abdelraouf
I built the request.py file which the server uses to get the stock information when called apon and returns the data in a ready to graph format. I also built a deprecated web scrapper that used selenium to read posts
