What does it do?

Our app loads walking tours using Yelp API data stored on a Cockroach DB database. The tour spots get displayed on a map with pictures and short descriptions of the attraction.

How We Built It

1. Coded an express.js API for serving json files
2. Connected server to cockroach DB
3. Developed front end with Android
4. Connected Android to API server with okHttp library

Challenges We Came Across

What’s Next for Walky Talky?

We would love to add audio and a more interactive map to the walking tours, and also let users in the community to add their own into the app!
