Inspiration
It is fun to explore new places but paying for tours or tour guides it's not always an option for everybody, and also availability and can be an issue. we wanted something fun affordable and that you could do on your own time.
What it does
An iOS app for creating, sharing, and discovering walking tours.
How I built it
Written in Objective-C by a team of four in four days, utilizing CoreFoundation for processing video, and using Parse for the back end.
Challenges I ran into
We had some issues with version control, but we were able to find the issue and fix it.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
Just getting the app done so fast it's a great accomplishment.
What I learned
This was a great opportunity to home my skills using MapKit and CoreLocation.
What's next for Walkabout Tours
We are currently working on the next version. The next features are: capability to share tours using the social framework, get suggested addresses to save some typing and the ability to edit your own tours anytime.
