About the Project WalkSafe 425 was inspired by real experiences with unsafe streets. After a teammate’s family friend was paralyzed due to a broken stop sign light, we realized how serious local safety issues can be. We built WalkSafe 425 to empower communities to report hazards and make streets safer — one step at a time.

What We Learned We learned:

  • Change starts locally with real action.
  • How to import data into Airtable and build apps with Softr.
  • The importance of user-friendly design for impact.

How We Built It We used Airtable for our backend and Softr for the app interface, connecting the two without code. Our team worked together on design and features to make the app simple, effective, and community-driven.

Challenges We Faced We had to quickly learn new tech platforms, troubleshoot unexpected issues, and share knowledge to build a complete project in a short time — and it made us stronger as a team.
