Inspiration
We've all experienced being late because of the snooze button. Good luck staying asleep with Wakey Wakey!
What it does
It helps users wake up by assigning them tasks that they must complete to turn off the alarm. These tasks are all done through conversation with the AI powered by Gemini and ElevenLabs.
How we built it
We made a rough plan of what the final product should look like, and then broke up the work into 4 sections based on our specialties and areas we wanted to focus on during this hackathon. The four areas were UX design and integration, Networking, API interacting and Visual computing, and finally Program state logic.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge was synchronizing the group members' individual work and integrating it all together at the end.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Developing a good plan before working, pushing ourselves to work with new facets of the fields we're interested in.
What we learned
We each learnt a lot; Working with typescript and Next.js, learning to use FastAPI and asynchronous socket programming, working with sensitive data (API keys) and securing them properly.
What's next for Wakey Wakey AI
Adding more bargaining options for the user when they really need extra time to sleep, and adding more memory for the AI to remember patterns.
