The idea was to implement a simple, inexpensive devise that could prevent incidents where drivers fall asleep at the wheel. An infrared LED (conforming to EU eye safety standards) was used in conjunction with an infrared receiver that was filtered for a 38 kHz signal.
Wakeup Call
It's an infrared sensor that fits on a baseball cap that can tell if a driver has fallen asleep at the wheel.
