Inspiration
We were inspired by the potential to create a stylistic world with generative tools.
What it does
The experience takes users on a journey to wake a floating island by collecting fireflies, lighting lanterns and growing the great tree.
How we built it
Using Tripo to generate the various creature, environment and effect assets, bringing them into Unity, then coding interactions to get the experience progression we desired.
Challenges we ran into
The initial generations from Tripo were by default too high poly, we had to decimate in Blender or adjust the triangle settings in Tripo to get assets that would run smoothly on mobile XR. There were also slight coloring issues on Tripo
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Generating high quality assets in the style we wanted and also in the right modular components for the interactions we had planned.
What we learned
We learned how to create assets in Tripo, we practiced some interesting brainstorming and rapid prototyping. We also learned how Unity's XR Template functions and how to build for Mobile XR in Unity 6
What's next for Wake Up The Island
We might want to add additional effects, glow, more detailed character behavior and animations and possibly build it for more platforms to be able to share it.
