Inspiration

Small businesses such as salons, clinics, and repair shops often manage appointments through phone calls and messaging apps, which can be time-consuming and error-prone. We wanted to create a simple and affordable solution that enables businesses to manage bookings digitally without needing a website.

What it does

QuickSlot allows business owners to create available appointment slots and lets customers instantly book appointments online. The platform provides an easy-to-use scheduling system that reduces manual work and prevents booking conflicts.

How we built it

  • Frontend: React.js and Tailwind CSS
  • Backend: Node.js and Express.js
  • Database: AWS DynamoDB
  • Hosting: Vercel
  • Authentication and cloud services: AWS

The application stores appointment data in DynamoDB and provides a clean dashboard for managing bookings and available time slots.

Challenges we ran into

  • Learning and integrating AWS services
  • Designing a simple booking workflow
  • Managing appointment conflicts and slot availability
  • Connecting frontend components with backend APIs

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a fully functional appointment booking platform
  • Successfully integrated AWS DynamoDB
  • Created a responsive and user-friendly interface
  • Deployed the project online using Vercel

What we learned

Through this project, we gained hands-on experience with cloud databases, full-stack development, API integration, deployment workflows, and real-world problem solving.

What's next for QuickSlot

  • SMS and email appointment reminders
  • Business analytics dashboard
  • Online payments integration
  • Multi-business support
  • Mobile application developmentpiration
